A Chat With Weasel Manizzo As He Turns 39

Born on 13th June, 1985, Seguya Douglas alias Weasel Manizo celebrated his 39th birthday surrounded by close friends and family.

TV personality Macona up with the birthday boy and had a chat to catchup on a few things.

How does it feel adding on another year?

It feels good because the kids have grown. it shows that I still have a lot to do in future, to grow up and a life ahead.

Thank you for the consistence and working hard.

We have to try and it is not easy. We just pray hard and have the people that love us pray and love us to to survive.

I have been hearing your many of your new songs. When will you release them?

Let us first finish the concert. I was supposed to release them before but you cannot push two projects at ago. So I’m still holding on to after the concert.

How many years are you celebrating?

I’m 39 years. I’m onto the 4th floor. Many people are ashamed of their real age but as a man, every time I add another year, it means I have to work harder. I’m not like women who are forever 28.

Which good things do you thank God for at this age?

I thank God for giving me good children, a beautiful wife, my mother, my siblings and presenters that love me. Nothing better than being loved.

Share with us some of the good memories on your birthday as Weasel Manizzo.

Musically, I remember being with Radio (R.I.P), going for the BET Awards meeting big artists and celebrities, memories about us winning and so many

What should your fans expect?

They should expect love and a lot of good music like you have heard. And a wonderful show on 2nd August at Hotel Africana ‘Memories Of Goodlyfe’

How do you balance your solo music career and Goodlyfe as a project?

It’s the same thing I do every day. It’s about going to the studio, get artists and record the music basing on how you feel. If it’s ready, you work on the video. It is not any different just hard work and being in studi0 doing what fans love.

What collaborations do you take pride in as a solo artist.

I have not done many collaborations but I go with King Saha’s ‘Mpa Love’.

Your collaboration with Pallaso.

(Samples with an acapella) The song is called ‘The GOAT’. we are working on the video to be released very soon. It is a nice song loved by the ladies and that is all I care for.

Did you get Radio’s Hard disk?

Yes, I have it in the bank and I’m dropping one song at ago. We have like a terabyte.

Who has helped you the most in your journey?

My fans, my friends, I won’t specify who exactly. They are very many because without friends, you can’t survive. When you’re down, you need people to lift you up.

How do you handle family, celebrity life and social media criticism?

I leave every thing to God because as an artist, critcism is part of life. For family, when I get into the house, I leave my life as Weasel Manizzo at the gate and get into my house like a family man.

Do you regret being a celebrity?

I do not because everything I have achieved, all the friends I have met, was because I’m a musician and they love what I do.

Your last words.

Thank you for loving Weasel.
