Different Tourism Queens have been crowned and confirmed as grand finale representatives from the different regional Miss Tourism searches. At the searches, winner, first runner up and second runners up are always chosen and proceed to be part of the grand finale contestants.
Over the weekend, the search for Miss Tourism Rwenzori took place at Uhuru Gardens Hotel in Kasese District and the three girls included the winner who was Fortunate Muhindo and the 1st runner up was Shivon Muganda and the second runner up Beatrice Masika Byakutaga.
The three will be at the Kampala Serena Hotel and will vie for the top prize with winners from the different regions and only one winner will be crowned Miss Tourism Uganda.
The Pageant was started over 10 years ago by the Late Hon Maria Mutagamba the former State Minister for Wildlife and Antiquities. It seeks to identify and crown Tourism Ambassadors who later represent Uganda in the Miss Tourism International event that happens in Malaysia after emerging Miss Tourism Uganda.
