Hon. Ssegirinya’s family to sue anyone posting his photos on social media

The family of Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Muhammad Ssegirinya, has strongly warned the members of the general public against taking photos of their patient during their visits at the hospital.

This comes after numerous photos of the vulnerable Hon. Ssegirinya who is currently hospitalized at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya flooded social media, starting a debate about his health condition.

Addressing the matter, one of his family members threatened legal action to anyone  circulating the photos going forward.

” Not to sound harsh, I want to be as polite as possible to anyone visiting him. We know he is a man of the people but photos are too many and it’s becoming uncomfortable,”. He said.

Last month, singer turned politician, Bobi Wine visited Ssegirinya and gave the public an update about his health, accompanied by photos.  According to the family, he was the only person granted the permission to share photos for various reasons known to them.

”People used this chance to start taking photos to get mileage at his expense. He is a sick man and we have to respect his privacy. As family, we have many pictures of him which we do not release,” he continued.

Ssegirinya is one of the popular figures both in politics and the entertainment world. The family called upon all his fans to give him a chance to heal and when he is discharged, they will set a special day aside have everyone interact and take a selfie with him.

“Until he gets discharged, we ask you to stop with the photos. We don’t refuse visits, but avoid ridiculing him with photos,” he said.

Before being flown to Kenya, Ssengirinya previously received treatment at Nsambya Hospital and  also sought medication in Germany and the Netherlands between June and October last year.

Family however say that his situation is promising.
