Jose Chameleone Defends ‘Vulgar’ Music

Legendary singer Jose Chameleone has shed more light on the position in the Uganda music industry, giving props to the young artists for releasing good music and keeping the industry running.

“Industry is doing well because I’m seeing new faces and everyone is trying so hard to do what they do. When we all sing, we are adding a block on our music industry.” the Leone Island boss spoke to Macona.

Media has been awash with different artists condemning their mates for releasing vulgar music, saying they are corrupting the minds of the younger generation. The songs that have faced this backlash are Lil Pazo’s ‘Enkudi’ and D-Star’s ‘Hoozambe Shifrah’.

Jose Chameleone’s view, however, is different from the rest, as he says these songs create a diversity in the music industry to help every music consumer get what they want.

“There is no silly song. Music is a very big subject with so many other smaller subjects. You may call whatever they sing silly but it makes sense to other people.

We are trying to make sure that every music fan gets what he wants from the industry. Every customer has to get what he wants,” he said.
