MC Kats bitter with Eddy Kenzo over unfair distribution of Federation funds

Celebrated events MC and TV host, MC Kats has called out the Ugandan Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) for the unfair distribution of the SACCO (Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization) money that was given to them by the government.

The NBS After5 co-host in an interview expressed his dissatisfaction on behalf of the young struggling artists who he said needed the money more than the ones that actually received it.

I don’t want a share of this money but I speak on behalf of the people. I thought it would help push the young struggling artists because I know the hustle they go through, having helped an artist using my own money,” he said.

This is not the first time the federation is facing these accusations; earlier this week, Swangz Avenue’s Azawi used her X account to criticize the Federation over the same issue, accusing the big artists of borrowing from the SACCO without any obligation to pay back.

” I got to know that the already established artists who know nothing about hustling but are leading the group shared the money amongst themselves. They wasted it on trips, buying new cars, new houses and shooting expensive videos,” MC Kats hinted on the same issue.

As the controversy surrounding the distribution of these finds continues to grow, it raises a question about transparency and how the government will best help the music industry to grow.

When the government gives us such amounts of money and it doesn’t help the industry as a whole, I don’t think they will ever give us more. We are destroying what we were meant to fight for. And just like Bobi Wine said, we are like beggars who disappear after being given,” Kats said.

MC Kats, however, made it clear that he has no problem with Eddy Kenzo as an individual.

Kenzo is my good friend but if I call, trying to tell you these and you ignore me, I have no option but to put it out on Twitter to whom it may concern. He refused my appointment after the money came through but why isn’t it the case for when he wants an interview with me,” Kats said.
