The tension between two of the top female artists in Uganda, Sheebah Karungi and Spice Diana has accelerated with Spice Diana vowing to release diss tracks back to back.
“I can release a song everyday without remorse. For so long she has been attacking me and all I have done is keep quiet. Now I decided to hit back and she is crying all over the place. The noise is too much after my release,” Spice told journalists.
A month ago, Sheebah jumped on Yung Mullo’s monster track ‘Sipimiika’, and in one of her verses, she threw a jab at Spice Diana, telling people not to ever compare her to ‘maama Birungo’ because she is unmeasurable.
In retaliation, Spice Diana released a clapback titled ‘Twokya’, where she goes bareknuckle with Sheebah terming her as a fake Swag Mama, fake feminist and bad hearted.
This was a sign that the on and off ‘fake’ friendship between the two artists was over and the battle lines were drawn.
“She took long to cut the ties because I severed the friendship long time ago. I do not pretend to like a person if they do not like me. It is not a crime,” Spice revealed.
Many people have speculated that the two were just on a publicity stunt to sell their music, something that Spice Diana rubbishes.
“When you grow up, you start differentiating between people that love you and the pretenders. Let me concentrate on the many that support me. She doesn’t add anything on me,” Spice said.
We have seen a number of music battles in the music industry and we have witnessed it give birth to massive talent. Among some of the notable grudges we have seen walk the face of Ugandan music include; the longstanding beef between Bebe Cool Vs Jose Chameleone Vs Bobi Wine, Radio & Weasel Vs Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool Vs Eddy Kenzo, Cindy Vs Sheebah and Vinka among others.
Most of these were settled with music battles but Spice Diana waters down this idea, terming it as a weak mindset.
“There’s no battle; I just said my mind and that was it. Battles are done by weak mindsets and I don’t do that,” she said.
