Social media users are furious with uptown radio station, NRG radio over the stunt they pulled when they allegedly fired one of their top presenters from their station, Etania.
On Tuesday, a sack letter made rounds on social media, stating that NRG radio was ending their working relationship with Etania over indiscipline. In the same letter, the bubbly deejay and radio presenter had been ordered to return company property and banned from working with competition for a year.
This was, however, confirmed to be a rumor when both the station and Etania shared a statement on their socials, stating that the letter was fake and Etania would be staying.
“Two days ago, a doctored letter surfaced online claiming NRG Radio fired Etania. Please be advised, this information is false and in no way reflects how we value our talent.
Etania is an exceptional person who embodies the ethos of our brand and always exceeds our expectations…We don’t fire talent; we get fired up for the next generation of stars. Etania is here to stay,” Read the statement.
What angered Ugandans was the fact that in the process of debunking the rumor, the station was announcing a new campaign ‘Beast Mode’, calling new presenters to join their station with Etania as the head of the campaign.
