UBOS, has initiated the 2024 Census

UBOS – Uganda Bureau of Statistics has today 10th May, 2024 started to enumerate the 2024 Census as initiated by the His Excellency the President of Uganda – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the day was announced as a public Holiday to all Ugandans to stay home and be enumerated.

The census began smoothly on parish level and enumerators passed through home to home, however, during enumeration, its heard that the enumeration kits experience technical issues and the job paused, hence leading to many Ugandans not counted.

This Census may take over some days in order to ensure proper Population Census, in majority of districts, enumeration started smoothly with  a total of 94,099 Enumerators and supervisors has been assigned roles of enumeration.

Enumeration has been well conducted in many Prisons countrywide, and the Commissioner Frank Baine confirms the process went on smoothly.

In Various Districts, most of Ugandans has been successful enumerated and some has not attended, as natives say that Enumeration Kits doesn’t respond effectively.
