Viboyo has asked music consumers to top pressurizing Weasel Manizzo for new music because of his big music catalogue.
Over the years since Radio’s death in February 2018, a huge number of Ugandans have been critically analyzing Weasel’s next step musically, especially without his other half. This has come with a lot of pressure to Weasel, with people demanding him for a hit song.
Viboyo, however, has asked people to instead focus on the timeless music the duo released in the past years than looking for a hit song from him.
“Basing on the catalogue that Radio & Weasel has, you have no right of asking for new music from him. He should release music when he wants to because he can still survive on the music he has for the rest of his life. It’s the music stakeholders’ mindset that has to change,” he said.
Weasel will have his solo concert ‘Memories Of Goodlyfe’ on 2nd August and Viboyo who had been friends with Radio and Weasel for many years has pledged his support.
“I will be there for the concert. We have come a long way and I love him so much. I met Weasel before Radio when he was still a child. there is no way I would not turn up,” he revealed.
Viboyo was on a music hiatus since 2013, spending time without releasing new music apart from the yearly wrap ups that he has been releasing every new year for the past 12 years, narrating the about the events of the previous year.
He did this because he had to first concentrate and learn more about film which was the second passion after music. He is now a certified film producer and is back to music.
I had to first put a stop and come up with new ideas. As a person, you need challenge yourself. I had released a lot of songs and at the same time loved film.
The lyricist, writer, rapper and music producer is back with a full length 16-songs album titled ‘Handmade Triumph; Omupambanyi’.
