Hoozambe Hit Star Accused Of Theft

Afro Dancehall music’s new sensation Hoozambe D-Star has hit headlines again, this time over theft accusations.

Hoozambe is one of the youngsters taking the music scene by storm with his viral hit song titled Shifrah. At the point where is to enjoy his new found fame and interviews on different media stations, a group of upcoming ghetto dancehall artists is accusing him of theft of both the song and a mobile phone.

The argument is that during one of their studio sessions, Hozambe D’star stole the phone, which had the recorded Shifrah song version and released it. The song allegedly had three verses, but D’star only released the Shifrah part that went viral on TikTok, garnering thousands of view from across the continent.

“D-Star stole our work and ran away. Hoozambe is not his name but our signature word. The song has three parts and He was only responsible for the verse that went viral.

In the song, he tries singing my name to convince the world that I’m his friend, but I’m not. He betrayed me. He is a thief.

He stole the phone in studio when we had gone to record the song. He ran away with the phone belonging to the owner of the studio,” Kakunene said.

When contacted, D-Star denied to comment on the allegations in a phone interview.

“Everyone has a right to say what they want but I have no answer to that. I can neither confirm nor deny because they they claim what they say is the truth. Everyone wants to use me as a ladder to go up,” he said in a phone interview.
